Website requirements
The first thing that must be done when designing a web solution is we must understand the client, we sit down and listen to what you want, where you want to go and what audience you need to target. Once we have this information we are at a stage where we can go away and draw up the requirements into a more concise format so our team of developers know what they have to do. This requirements documents will form the foundations of any web product we develop so both parties will be clear about what will happen.
Gathering the requirements
This process usually starts with a face to face meeting with yourselves and us if geographically possible, if not it can be done over phone and e-mail. Below is a list of some of the questions we may ask
These are a few of the questions we may ask you, but we will also put ideas in and help you along as we have the web knowledge and experience to make you stand out from your competitors.
Why do we need website requirements?
You need to tell us about special features you would like to enable you to stand out from your competition. It is crucial to catch these ideas at the requirements stage so that they can be designed and built into the web solution from day one, adding these features in later can mean major re-design and therefore increased costs.
If a requirements process is avoided, it makes it difficult to identify all the ways your website can be successful, this will result reduced business.
